Sycomore Asset Management is an official partner of COP21, which will take place in Paris between November 30th and December 11th.
By becoming an official sponsor of COP21, Sycomore AM reaffirmed its ambition of placing sustainable development at the heart of its strategy and financing a more responsible economy.
Speed along the transition to a greener economy
"Faced with what is one of the major challenges of the 21st century, all stakeholders must take an active role in building a more resilient, low-carbon economy. As responsible investors, we are keen to support initiatives that help speed along the transition to a greener economy," emphasises Christine Kolb, founding partner of Sycomore AM.
Faced with environmental and climate change risks, an increasing number of companies are rethinking their business models to lead the transition to a greener and more circular economy.
An investment strategy can no longer overlook the environmental impact of the products and services offered by companies
As an investor, Sycomore AM wants to send incentives to those companies and announces the upcoming launch of a fund that will invest in listed companies that develop and market eco-efficient solutions. "We are convinced that an investment strategy can no longer overlook the environmental impact of the products and services offered by companies," explains Jean-Guillaume Péladan, Strategic Director of the Energy and Ecological Transition at Sycomore AM.
Last but not least, as a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment and the Montreal Carbon Pledge, Sycomore AM publishes the carbon footprint of all its portfolios since January 2015. Furthermore, in an effort to promote ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) research, Sycomore AM has decided to support this year's PRI Academic Network Conference, which recognises the best research on responsible investment, in addition to sponsoring the FIR-PRI Awards for the 5th consecutive year. Sycomore AM will participate in the PRI in Person conference, to be held September 8th to 10th in London.
